St. Mary’s Cultural Center Livonia ~ Crystal + Chris 8/15/09

Saturday was hot but a great day for Crystal and Chris. I met them 4 years ago at Chris’ sister Nicole’s wedding. Crystal booked me 2 years in advance to do day-of coordination because she saw me in action at Nicole’s wedding and wanted a stress-free day! I was very excited for this wedding to finally get here because this couple chose to do a Elegant Harley-Davidson themed wedding since they are in a bike club and riding is a bike part of their lives.
Tifany from Gourmet Invitations took some inspiration from the Harley logo and after some discussion with Crystal came up with these really cool invites to set the tone to the event. Crystal’s uncle is a hairdresser in Flint and did all the girls hair and Sylvia and her team from Bridal Beauty was there to do make-up and they both made each girl look and feel beautiful! The ceremony was at First Presbyterian of Plymouth and ended with a butterfly release to remember loved ones especially Crystal’s Mom who was there in spirit. They booked almost all the same vendors that Nicole and Brad did from their wedding so it was nice to work with everyone again. Steve from Rawlinson Photography and his assistant Stan captured all of the great pics and Alan and Tracy of Lockwood Media Group even put together a same day edit to show them a overview of the big day which I have included below.
I arranged 1/2 of Crystal’s do-it-yourself centerpieces which were 3 vases in different sizes with orange aqua beads, roses, uplighting and 3 orange votives. The other 1/2 of the centerpieces Weber’s from Livonia took care of and they were orange gerber daisies in tall vases with marbles and uplighting with more votives. The room at St. Mary’s Cultural Center looked amazing and we also owe that to Jennifer at All About Elegance for providing the black chaircovers. Brian from Elite Sweets, which is my favorite bakery by the way supplied the yummy cake and adorned it with a Harley cake topper.
Other special touches that the bride and groom had were 3 motorcycles on display, a saddlebag for their card box and the best truffles I have ever had at each placesetting! I think in 1o years of doing weddings Crystal’s bustle was the first one that did not break all night. Thank you to Dior Bridal from Dearborn for doing such a excellent job! I am always fixing the bride’s bustle and it was so nice not to have her miss time away from her jammin dancefloor to do repairs! A great time was had by all and now the new Mr. and Mrs. are in Gatlinburg, TN for some R&R and will probably sneak a bike ride in!
Check out the overview from the day….
