Frequently Asked Questions while you are considering our services to help you prepare for your big day!

    1. Do you charge for an initial consultation?
      1. No, consultations to discuss our services are complimentary when you are interested in a wedding collection.
      2. However, if you just need free information, we have a “Pick Your Brain” Session available for $100 that is credited to your invoice when you book our services within 7 days when we are available.
    2. Are you present at all vendor meetings?
      1. This depends on the service collection you choose, we will likely not be present at all vendor meetings, but we will maintain contact with vendors to ensure everyone is on the same page so things can run smoothly.
    3. What is the largest and smallest wedding you’ve managed?
      1. 700
      2. 50
    4. Will you have anyone with you at my event?
      1. Yes, each lead planner/coordinator will always bring one assistant to help ensure the day runs smoothly.
  1. Is there an extra charge for additional staff?
    1. Yes, for additional staff we charge a flat day rate of $200 per coordinator if deemed necessary based upon your needs.
  2. Will the wedding planner/coordinator read over the vendor contracts for you? What are some common pitfalls to look out for?
    1. We will look over the vendor contracts and identify and fix any issues that we may find.
    2. Often rental companies require their dishes and/or charger plates to be scraped or a quick rinse before putting back in the crates. If you fail to do so you will be charged, so be sure your caterer handles this task.
  3.  Does the wedding planner/coordinator create a timeline that tells everyone involved in the planning process—vendors, members of the wedding party, bride/groom, and families—what to do and when to do it? How will she/he make sure that everyone sticks to the schedule?
    1. While working with you to plan your wedding we will create a timeline for the day-of to keep everything organized.
    2. We handle the logistics on your wedding day to ensure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be there.
  4. Can the wedding planner/coordinator counsel me on etiquette matters and alert me to hot trends on the wedding horizon?
    1. This is something we can do, and our blog is a great resource to use when thinking of proper etiquette and new trends.
  5. When in the planning process should we hire you?
    1. Ultimately you want to hire our team as early as possible to ensure availability as dates fill up quickly! (ex: 12–18 months for full planning, 6–9 months for guided, 3-5 months for day-of or month-of).
  6. How much involvement will my planner/coordinator have?
    1. As little or as much depending on the collection you choose. This is something we can work together to determine during a consultation so that you can hire us for the services that will best suit your needs.
  7. How much experience does the wedding planner/coordinators have?
    1. Tracie our lead planner and owner is highly experienced and knowledgeable about the wedding industry with 26 years of experience as a certified wedding planner. Our event assistants and coordinators are trained exclusively by Tracie have much experience too!
  8.  Do you carry insurance? Yes, we have $1,000,000 each for general and professional liability coverage.
  9. I am looking for more of “Month of” Coordination. Do you offer that? Yes! We start working with you at 90 days out vs. 60 days like with our regular Wedding Management (Day of Coordination) and this includes ceremony rehearsal coordination and other inclusions.
  10. My venue requires a coordinator but I am not sure how much help I actually need? The number one feedback we get is how much stress we took off the bride on their big day, and we cannot wait to do that for you as well.
  11.  We’re looking for a Day-of Coordinator. Do you offer a service where you just show up and make sure everything goes perfect that we planned? There won’t be that much to do we promise! We pride ourselves in the way we manage each wedding day and the reason we are able to execute your day is because we have spent hours preparing. We are the team lead for your vendors keeping things on schedule or adjusting as things happen and they sometimes do, we problem solve as issues come up, so you don’t hear about them while we remain calm and friendly. Our wedding management collection is the minimum service because we know it allows us to deliver the excellent service you deserve, and we are not satisfied with anything less. Our role is much more than what you may have in mind for day-of coordinator as we always go the extra mile and our reviews from our satisfied client showcase the results. Wedding Management is the peace of mind you deserve for your special day!
  12. Do you offer payment plans? Yes! We require a 50% retainer on our coordination services and 25% retainer with installment payments on the balance for larger planning collections.
  13. What does a wedding planner handle that I might not think of? Helps educate clients who don’t fully understand the value of planning.
  14. Do you only work with certain vendors, or can I bring my own? We have an amazing network of wedding professional’s that we love recommending to our clients as they are tried and true. Why would you want to take a chance on finding someone on Craigs List or another site that you are not familiar with. Of course, if you have someone you have heard about and have your heart set on we are flexible and will listen to your needs and can discuss :)
  15. Do you help with cultural, themed, or non-traditional weddings? Yes! We are experienced with many traditions and would love to learn about yours too! Detroit Cultural Weddings
  16. What happens if something goes wrong on my wedding day? We’re pros at putting out fires. You’ll never even know there was an issue.
  17. What’s your favorite part of a wedding day? I love sending my brides down the aisle which includes fluffing her train, making sure her jewelry is straight and showing her how to hold her bouquet as she holds her escort’s arm. Aaah, it’s the best moment for her and ME!! All the work that we put in is finally coming to fruition and getting to see her as a BRIDE is so exciting I just love it!! The planning is OVER and we celebrate! We she celebrates I still have work to do ha!

  19. What does a wedding planner do? A wedding planner is like a project manager for your wedding—handling logistics, vendors, timing, and stress so the couple can enjoy the celebration.
  20. How much does a wedding planner cost? In the Detroit / Metro Detroit area, hiring a wedding planner usually costs about $2,000 to $10,000+, depending on how much help you want.
