A word from our bride Mara:
Scott and I met
when we were 9 years old on the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club Swim team. We also went
to middle school and freshman year of high school together. There is a great
picture of us at prom freshman year when we went in the same group.

Many years later,
we re-met at a mutual friend’s Birthday party. Our first date started with
him meeting some of my coworkers, and then we hung out with his boss all night.
Normally not the recipe for romance, but despite this, we hit it off and have
been inseparable ever since.

Scott proposed on
the beach at sunset in the Florida Keys. I was so surprised, I fell over and
was literally inches from going into the ocean. It is all captured on video and
pretty hilarious.

We recently moved
from Brooklyn, New York to Denver, Colorado. Scott is a Creative Director for a
PR and marketing agency. I am currently freelancing and working on my
photography. We absolutely love Denver but are excited to get married
in our hometown.

What started out as
a “small intimate wedding” has grown into 200 people at the Detroit
Golf Club. Cool fact: The DGC is celebrating their centennial this
year. Theme has been a little bit harder to nail down. Perhaps “Jazz
Age Garden Party.” We are using lots of lush greenery with white blooms.
Fairly traditional with unique personal elements. Hoping to dance till we drop!

bridesmaids, 1 junior bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen. My sister, Anna, will
be maid of honor and Scott’s brother Joe, the best man. The men will be
wearing custom suits from Antonio Rimanelli in Grosse Pointe. Bridesmaids will
be in Nicole Miller. I will be in Monique Lhuillier.
