The royal wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William was watched by millions, and talked about by even more. And of course, we couldn’t let this historical wedding pass without writing about it!

The royal event took place at Westminster Abbey in London, with 1900 people in attendance. And everything that we saw was absolutely stunning.

First of all, let’s start with all the fabulous hats that were worn. Kate Middleton had the hats designed for her wedding party by famous hat designer Phillip Treacy. The hats, though a little out there, were absolutely amazing.

And of course, there is her wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The dress featured a heart-shaped corset and a flattering but modest v-neck. The veil is held in place by a Cartier halo tiara. Her train was over 6 feet long.

Kate’s bouquet carried a mixture of flowers, which each held a special meaning:

Hyacinth- Constancy of love

Ivy- Fidelity; marriage; wedded love; friendship; affection

Lily-of-the-valley- Return of happiness

Myrtle – the emblem of marriage; love.

Sweet William – Gallantry

Westminister Abbey was lined with trees, and featured an alter full of greenery. Among the 900 flowers used for the wedding were azaleas, white lilacs, rhododendron, and wisteria.
