Couple Of The Month ~ Lauren + Ryan, The Inn at St. John’s
My
name is Lauren and I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada and my Fiancé Ryan
was born in raised in the Detroit region.
We met while attending medical school in the Caribbean approx. 5 years
ago. Although we lived very different
lives previous to medical school, our love for medicine and adventure brought
us together. We both understood the sacrifice each other had made, giving up
all that we knew to study medicine and become a physician. Together we
supported each other through the endless hours of studying, stress, exams, and
clinical rotations. Early this summer we both began working at nearby hospitals
as, myself a family medicine resident and Ryan a pediatric resident

20th 2016, Ryan proposed on the doorstep of the home that he had
just closed on, the house that would now be our home. He had his sister capture the whole thing with
photographs and had my parents on FaceTime since they could not be here from
Canada

Planning
a wedding has not been easy given we are both in our first year of residency
and have been remodeling our new home. With that said, it has been an amazing
experience! Our wedding ceremony will be at Ryan’s childhood church Cross of
Christ Lutheran Church followed by cocktail hour and reception in the Grand
Ballroom at the Inn at St John, Plymouth. Our wedding party consists of 6
bridesmaid and 6 groomsman including closest family and friends. Our wedding
color’s are black & white with touch of silver. The boys are in traditional
black tux and the girls in midnight beaded gowns. The idea was to keep it simple, classy and
very traditional. We are both anxiously waiting
our big day and cannot wait to see how the finishing touches come together, and
most importantly say “I do”!
