How To Have A Beautiful Wedding Without Breaking The Bank

Planning a wedding is definitely an exciting time for any couple as they start their life together. However, we
do have to be honest and realistic about the fact that weddings – especially nowadays are not cheap things at all.

In fact, weddings belong to one of the biggest and fastest growing industries in the world with them being worth billions
of dollars annually just in the United States alone where the average wedding costs at least $30,000 – and that’s not
even a fancy wedding, so you can probably imagine what something upwards of that amount is going to cost.

The problem is now that although the costs of a wedding are going up, so are overall living costs, but salaries are
not rising to reflect these costs, so more and more couples are struggling to pay for their weddings, and whilst some
will choose to go into debt for theirs, others are taking the approach of looking for a more budget friendly option.

So, if you’re planning a wedding anytime soon and would like to know how you can still have a beautiful wedding
without breaking the bank, then in this post we’re going to share with you some of our top tips on how you can do that.

Cut the list:

Wedding planning involves lots of things, and one of those things that couples have to decide when planning a wedding
is who they’re going to be inviting to the wedding – this can be for the actual ceremony itself or for the evening reception
or it can be for both depending on the type of wedding you’re going to have and what the structure of the day is going to
look like.

The guest list is actually one of the most expensive parts of a wedding, and when we say this, we’re mainly talking about
the evening reception because when you invite those guests then you have to at least provide food. Some couples will
also provide some or all drinks, but this is not as common and it’s usually just food that’s offered.

However, as you know, food is not cheap. You know that if you go to a nice restaurant, then you’re likely going to be spending
anywhere between $60 -$160 for two people, depending on where you go and what you get, so this isn’t likely to be something
you’re going to be doing every night unless you’re Bill Gates.

Now, just imagine that you’re going to be buying dinner at your wedding for around 200 people. When you do the math on that,
you’re going to see just how much it’s going to cost, so one way of making sure you don’t go over the top in terms of spending
is to cut your guest list right down and only have the people there who you truly care about.

Shop around:

Weddings are expensive, not just when it comes to food, but for pretty much everything from clothing to accessories, to venues
and everything else in between, so just like you would in any area, it’s important to take time to shop around and spend some
time comparing prices of things because they’re not all equal. For example, if you’re looking for a uniquely designed wedding ring
for you and your partner, then you may be tempted to just go with the most renowned jeweler in your city, but it’s important to
remember that a lot of what determines someone’s price is just their branding and marketing, so if you do your research and
spend some time shopping around online and offline, then you’re likely to find some great deals at the same level of quality.

Buy second hand:

Many people will totally balk at the idea of buying second hand for their wedding, but if you’re looking to save money and still have
a beautiful day, then it’s honestly one of the best decisions you could probably make. The thing is, when you think about the fact
that someone spends at least a few hundred and sometimes thousands on a dress for their wedding that they only wear for a few
hours and then it just lies in their closet, it doesn’t make sense to buy a new one each time.

Second hand wedding dresses are going to cost you far less than a new one, the style will be amongst the latest ones available
at a fraction of the cost and nobody will even know the difference because it’s only been worn once before and proabably had
some professional cleaning before it was re-sold.

Call in favors:

When it comes to your wedding, people will more than happy to help in any way they can, so even if instead of letting people get
you a wedding gift or give you money, you could instead ask them for a favor by contributing to or helping out with your wedding
in some way. This could be something like asking a friend to take your photos, asking your aunt who’s a hobby baker to make
your cake, asking around to see if your uncle can get you a good deal on wedding cars, or anything else you can think of, really.
This allows you to get the things you need for a good price and also gives people the chance to help you in a way that’s meaningful
instead of just getting you a gift for the sake of getting something.

Consider eloping:

Just to be clear, when we talk about eloping, we’re not saying rush off to Vegas and not tell anyone – although if that’s your thing,
then you totally can, but we’re talking more about choosing to go somewhere else and have a lower key wedding that doesn’t
involve as much planning. This way you can have a beautiful wedding in a nice location, you can invite a few close family and
friends if you choose or you can just have a party when you’re back, and you’re also going to save a lot of money, so you can either
use your wedding as a joint wedding/honeymoon, or you can take the money you saved and go somewhere else after it.
