Wedding Venue Tours
22 of us enjoyed another fabulous
wedding planner reception tour organized by Bill of Quintessential Events. We always have the best time. If you are a wedding planner please sign up for the next wedding planner reception tour ! We are going to
Mackinac Island for our first overnight trip August 14 – 15. Then mark your calendar for our fall tour on October 2. Hope to see you there!
We started our day at
South Bar in Birmingham. What a unique space! This can be used for any kind of party, unique wedding and has a club atmosphere to it. They also have a fabulous patio for rent.
Looks Like A Castle!
Next, we headed over to San Marino Club in Troy. I have done a few weddings here so I was familiar with the space. They do a LOT of Italian weddings and other ethnic cultures here. Beautiful place that looks like a castle!
The Somerset Inn was one of my favorite stops of the day. I have heard of this place but never been there and so glad Bill got them on the tour. They have an amazing outdoor ceremony spot! My picture does not do it justice. The price is a bit steep at $2,000 but what a beautiful setting. You do have to have your reception in one of their ballrooms in order to use the ceremony spot. If this is a place you think you might want to have your wedding and reception please call me at 248-408-4602 as I have a special incentive to offer to my readers!! Very exciting!
They treated us to some amazing cheesecake and other desserts. We also departed with a yummy wedding cake cookie.
The most interesting stop on our tour was
Bloomfield Open Hunt Club in Bloomfield Hills. This place is the perfect setting if you have a bride or an event that should be themed around horses! Complete with stables and arena’s. They would be happy to host any special occasion from weddings, bridal and baby showers, themed events, holiday parties and much more. Check out their site for more information for your next event.
Morton’s The Steakhouse of Troy was next on our list and what an amazing time we had there. The servers put on bridesmaids gowns and one of them dressed up as a bride. They waited on us so that was nice as we as planners are always serving the bridal party. They served us some delicious appetizers including crab cakes and wonderful carrot cake which apparently takes 3 days to make! Must be some recipe huh?
Hollye Mackler Designs provided some beautiful centerpieces!
Golf Course Views
Next, we went to
The Wyndgate Country Club in Rochester Hills. I have done a wedding here and what a beautiful setting it is. We had some delicious appetizers here too….do you get the idea they just keep feeding us!
Papa Joe’s Hidden Treasure
Our last stop was
LaSala Banquet Center in Rochester. Not many people know about this venue as it is in a Papa Joe’s shopping plaza! Different place for a banquet hall but it’s worth the drive. It has to be one of the most modern venues we have seen. The great thing is they are known for their lighting which is included in your package. The second thing that they are known for is their bread basket! They served us a full sit-down dinner which started with an amazing salad with pecans and feta cheese (2 of my favorites), followed by the main entree of chicken, mashed potatoes and a California medley of vegetables. For dessert they treated us to a fruit and berry flan that was delicious! We were all so full and all wanted to take a nap on the ride back to Birmingham.
