Woodfield Golf Club Wedding ~ Sarah + Rick 8/22/09

Sarah and Rick were referred to me by previous clients Amber and Chad. Thanks A+C! It was great to see you guys again. I hope your dog is going to be ok.

Sarah and her girls started their day with a little pampering at Todd’s Room in Birmingham. They do a great job there and it is worth the drive since this wedding was up in Grand Blanc. Blue Drive Weddings did all the driving though so they didn’t have to.

The ceremony and reception were both at Woodfield Golf Course so that made it really easy for the guests. Sarah walked down the aisle to “Dancing Queen” by Abba which was played beautifully by The Rondo String Quartet. The couple’s friend Tony officiated the ceremony so that was a very special touch and meant a lot to them. I have to mention Rick’s Mom, Sue, she is so talented and sure has a craft for making things for weddings. She made the ring bearer pillows and these cute little tissue packets for the guests.

Following the ceremony the guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers on the veranda while Rich Schultz of Icapture Images worked on getting some great pictures along with his video team. Rich has promised me a video clip of the day so I am going to hold him to it…can’t wait to see it!

Sherry from Vogt’s from downtown Flint and her team did a fabulous job on the ceremony decor and centerpieces. Sarah and Rick wanted something a little different so they had tall cylinders with lemons and limes on a silver charger along with some daisies and more lemon and lime slices to garnish the charger. Their colors were chocolate brown and yellow but this splash of green from the limes really looked nice.

This couple has a love for great music so instead of using table numbers they gave each table a band name. The vendor table was ZZtop and of course the head table was Abba with several others from Beastie Boys, Weezer, Kiss, Hall and Oates, U2 and many more. What a great idea! They gave their guests a cute chocolate brown tuxedo box complete with a lottery ticket and guitar pick with their picture on it for a memento. Rick has been a huge fan of Jedi Mind Trip Band out of Saginaw for years so it was a real treat to have them play his wedding reception. Sarah and Rick even got on stage with the band and sang to their guests! They were having a fabulous time! The band was awesome and I can’t wait to tell my clients about them and the price is right too. Todd from JRB Sound was there to do the intro’s and cover the band breaks. The dance floor was packed and everyone had a blast!

Lorrie from Special Occasions did a fabulous job with her chaircovers and linens to pull the whole look together. Rhonda from Tasty Layers made a beautiful cake. I have been talking to Rhonda on and off for a while now so it was so great to finally meet her and taste her cake and they truly are tasty! The guests had a blast going in and out of the photobooth that Shutterbooth provided. Megan and Danielle were great hostesses putting together the photo album for the bride and groom. What a great change from the boring guestbook! You take your 4 pictures, you get a strip to take home and then one goes into the album and you sign it with your message!
