Rattlesnake Club Jewish Wedding | Nicole + Ken
Nicole and Ken celebrated their beautiful Rattlesnake Club Jewish wedding on September 2, 2018, along the Detroit waterfront. From their outdoor ceremony and meaningful Jewish traditions to an evening filled with dancing, their wedding day was full of memorable moments.
A Waterfront Jewish Wedding Ceremony in Detroit
Nicole and Ken planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the Detroit waterfront. Of course, a waterfront wedding can also mean plenty of wind—and their wedding day was no exception!
Our You’re The Bride team spent the early part of the day setting up details inside, including place cards, signs, the card box, table numbers and holders, the cake and knife set, the ketubah, and other reception essentials.
Then it was time to prepare for the ceremony. We headed outside with the programs, flower girl basket, ring bearer box, wine, kiddush cup, yarmulkes, and other ceremony details.
That’s when we discovered an unexpected wedding-day challenge.
The chuppah that had been standing when we arrived earlier had fallen due to the wind and wasn’t properly secured for the waterfront conditions.
Our team immediately worked alongside the Rattlesnake Club staff to get it standing again. We used rocks and potted plants to add extra weight around the four corners and secure it as best we could.
It definitely wasn’t part of the original plan, but that’s exactly why having a wedding team there to handle unexpected situations can make such a difference!
Getting Ready for the Wedding
While our team prepared the ceremony and reception spaces, Nicole spent the morning getting ready at home with some of her closest friends.

Before the ceremony, Nicole and Ken decided to have a first look.
A first look gives a couple a few quiet moments together before the ceremony begins and before they’re surrounded by all of their guests. For Nicole and Ken, it also created an opportunity for some beautiful photographs together before saying “I do.”
Wedding Photos Around Detroit
After their waterfront ceremony, the newlyweds and their wedding party headed around Detroit for photos.
With downtown Detroit as their backdrop, they captured some gorgeous portraits before returning to celebrate with their guests.
Rattlesnake Club Wedding Reception
After photos, it was time to party!
Nicole and Ken’s reception took place in the atrium of the Rattlesnake Club, where their family and friends gathered to celebrate the newlyweds.
One of the highlights of the reception was the Hora, a joyful Jewish wedding tradition that brought plenty of energy to the dance floor.
Nicole also surprised everyone with a second wedding look! She changed into another beautiful wedding dress with accessories that made it a little easier to enjoy the dance floor while still looking absolutely gorgeous.
It was the perfect way to transition from an elegant wedding ceremony into an evening of celebrating.
