Intern Exit Interview ~ Valeria
Intern exit interview with Valeria from Dominican University in Chicago talks about her recent experience working as a summer intern with Tracie and You’re The Bride.
1. What things did you enjoy about the internship?
I enjoyed getting to design content and learning new skills like fixing broken links and writing blog posts that help support a successful website.
2. Do you think it was a valuable experience? If so, why?
Yes, it was a valuable experience because I had a variety of tasks that helped me learn how to organize, plan, and create content effectively.
3. What did you learn about wedding/event planning?
I learned that wedding and event planning involves a lot of behind-the-scenes logistics from timelines and vendor communication to styling and problem-solving. There’s so much detail work that goes into making an event run smoothly.
4. What was your favorite part of the experience while interning at You’re The Bride?
My favorite part was working on the designs for the digital course, especially brainstorming captions and crafting engaging headings.
5. What did you dislike about the internship?
There wasn’t anything major I disliked, but sometimes balancing multiple tasks virtually could be a bit challenging.
6. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve the internship?
Weekly check-ins or occasional Zoom calls could help interns feel more connected, especially for bigger projects. However, we used Voxer for voice memos which worked well.
7. In the future, would you be interested in helping again as a virtual office or event assistant or wedding coordinator if you had time and it was paid?
Yes, I’d be happy to help again if the opportunity came up and the timing worked out.
