“Does anybody know of any reasons why these two shouldn’t be lawfully married?”

In the movies, this is the point an ex-lover bursts into the church and declares their undying love. However, in real life, the main culprit is stress. Yes, everyday, run-of-the-mill tension is what rears its ugly heads for most brides.

There is just too much for you to deal with not to feel overwhelmed by the experience. Usually, brides avoid a last-minute meltdown, yet there’s nothing to say your anxiety won’t take the edge off your big day.

You can’t let stress ruin your wedding. Here are four ways to ensure it stays in the background.

Engage Your Engagement

The average length of an engagement in the US is a year to eighteen months. While this may seem the perfect amount of time to you, it’s not very long. Remember that you have to book a venue, pick a band, and deal with the caterers in that period. And, that’s without factoring in the little details, of which they are hundreds! So, if you realize that you’ve bitten off more than you can chew, you can always opt for a longer engagement. Extending it by a year or two should give you plenty of opportunities to save and get organized.

Utilize Your Vacation Allocation

A consideration that most couples fail to recognize is that planning a wedding is a full-time job. Considering that you already have an employer, you won’t have much time to do anything else, and that’s when things start to feel suffocating. Thankfully, you can take a day off from your regular routine and focus on the wedding. Doing this will allow you to spend a single day ticking things off your to-do list, which in turn will make you feel ten times better. It’s not a proper day off, but at least you don’t have to worry about office politics!

Put Your Makeup First

You won’t hear this often. Typically, it’s about putting yourself and your hubby-to-be first. Yet, your makeup is a part of the event. Everybody is there to see how beautiful the bride is, and that puts a lot of pressure on your shoulders. Thankfully, you can get ready for your big day investing in chemical peels and deep cleansing facials a couple of months before the wedding. These treatments remove dead skin and unclog pores so that your makeup will look stunning by the time you walk down the aisle.

Have Faith

Sorry to spoil the ending, but you’re going to love your wedding day! It doesn’t matter whether it’s perfect or there are a few glitches – you’re marrying the love of your life surrounded by family and friends. As soon as the food is on the table and the drinks are flowing, you’ll experience the biggest feeling of happiness surge throughout your body. This is hard to see beforehand, yet it’s vital to keep in mind if you’re feeling stressed.

The fact that you’re committing to the rest of your life together is all that matters. Don’t you agree?
