Chloe & Jake’s rehearsal dinner at the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor, MI was an event in and of itself. Mother-of-the groom Sharon with her busy work schedule knew she would need help in planning the rehearsal. She hired YTB for our expertise with decor, food, and invitations in planning such a special occasion.
The day could not have been more perfect for an outdoor event. On the way to the Gandy Dancer to set-up the rehearsal dinner space, we stopped by Merri-Craft Florist in Livonia, MI to pick up the flower center pieces and sneak a peek at the flowers for the wedding the next day. YTB arrived at 4pm to help Kristina and the Gandy Dancer team transform the outdoor patio space for a rehearsal dinner of 100 guests. When we got there, the paper lanterns and white linens and chair covers were set up and already the patio was transforming into a fun event space. We quickly went around the room and folded black napkins and placed the centerpieces on all of the tables. The fresh spring flowers perfectly complimented the colorful lanterns and were a nice contrast to the black and white linens. We completed the table set up with votive candles and table numbers with a monogrammed “D”.
For the bride & groom’s seats we placed these clever signs to let everyone know these seats were taken.
YTB set up the place cards and The Gandy Dancer staff went around setting the table and setting up the bar.
Before the guests were due to arrive the harpist Denise got settled in and set the mood with her beautiful melodies.
The hors d’oeuvres were placed out buffet style and the servers were ready for the rehearsal dinner to start.
Guests arrived at 6:30pm following the wedding rehearsal at the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor and photographer Jessica from Flourish Photography arrived to capture the memories from this special night.
Chloe was all smiles as she posed with two of her gorgeous bridesmaids!
As guests mingled and enjoyed a delicious meal together, hosts of the night, mother and father of the groom, Chris & Sharon Dickinson thanked everyone for coming out and raised a toast in celebration of Chloe & Jake.
A special announcement was also made and a cake brought out as it was brother-of the groom-and best man George’s Birthday! Everyone sang happy birthday and he blew out his candles.
As guests were leaving they could be heard talking about how lovely the night was and how excited they were for the wedding the next day.
It was truly a wonderful rehearsal dinner and YTB is happy to have been a part of making it all possible.
