How To Make Sure You’re Not Stressed Out the Day of Your Wedding

Honestly, your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life, but the stress of planning can sometimes overshadow the joy. While yes there are so many tips out there for a stress-free experience, when it gets to the day itself, most things will be totally out of your control! It’s scary to think, yes, but don’t worry too much (that’s the goal here).

All it takes is a bit of preparation and a positive mindset; you can glide through your big day with ease and grace. So, here are some tips to ensure you stay calm, collected, and fully present on your wedding day.

Plan and Delegate

The key to a stress-free wedding day lies in the planning. So, with that all said, you need to start early and be organized. You’ll have to create a detailed timeline for the day, including everything from hair and makeup appointments to the ceremony and reception schedule.

Once you have your plan, delegate tasks to trusted friends, family members, and your wedding planner. You don’t have to handle everything yourself! Let others take care of the nitty-gritty details so you can focus on enjoying your special day. Yes, you can ask them, they’ll do it!

Have a Wedding Day Emergency Kit

No one likes this, but it’s completely true, you’re just going to have to accept that unexpected things can happen, but being prepared can save you from a lot of stress. So, go ahead and put together a wedding day emergency kit with essentials like safety pins, band-aids, stain remover, breath mints, and pain relievers. Having this kit on hand can help you quickly resolve minor issues without a fuss, ensuring you stay calm and collected throughout the day.

Practice Self-Care

In the days leading up to your wedding, prioritize self-care. Yes, you need your sleep; yes, keep doing your grooming and skincare routine; and yes, you’re going to have to eat! But overall, consider treating yourself to a massage or a relaxing spa day (ideally the day before).

But that’s not all, on the morning of your wedding, take some time for yourself. Whether it’s a quiet moment with a cup of tea, a short meditation session, or a light workout, doing something that calms your mind and body can set a positive tone for the rest of the day.

Focus on the Moment

It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of events on your wedding day, but try to stay focused on the moment. So, you have to remember that your photographer is going to be shooting this day, and it’s going to be hard for them to shoot smiles if you’re stressed out. For example, if you hired documentary wedding photographers for the big day, they’ll most likely be shooting you growing or looking stressed (they are candid photo takers, after all), so is that something you want? This is meant to be your day, your special day.

So, on this special day, you need to take a few deep breaths and remind yourself why you’re there – to marry the love of your life. Don’t worry about the little things that might not go exactly as planned. Overall, just trust that your preparation will pay off and that any small hiccups won’t matter in the grand scheme of things. But on top of that, just embrace the imperfections and let yourself be present in each moment.

Stay Flexible and Go with the Flow

Even with the best planning, things can still go awry. Maybe the weather doesn’t cooperate, or a vendor is running late. Instead of letting these situations stress you out, adopt a go-with-the-flow attitude. It’s extremely rare that an actual wedding goes perfectly smoothly.
