How to Choose a Dream Wedding Venue

Right at the top of many newly engaged couple’s to-do lists is choosing a wedding venue. After all, this is going to play an enormous role in the success of your day, so you will want to make sure you get it right. It may seem like an overwhelming task at first, which is why we have compiled a list of ways to make it that little bit easier. Let’s begin.

Make Sure it Feels Right

You are likely to visit a number of different of venues before you settle on one which feels right. You need to be able to compare the feelings that you get when you walk through the door of each one of these places. Try to imagine how you would run your wedding while you are in here, thinking about any logistical details such as capacity, size, facilities etc.

Think About the Location

Consider where your guests will be coming from and details like where they can stay. Many couples choose to host their weddings abroad, so if you are booking a French chateau for weddings or a beachside location in Mexico, you should also think about your guests as well. How far is the nearest airport? Can you get a deal with a local hotel? Are there are range of accommodation options? These are all questions worth asking before settling on your final decision.

Discuss How the Day Will Run

If the place you have chosen is a typical wedding venue, there should be a representative on hand who is able to talk you through exactly how standard weddings run. Ask about details like how long the turnaround will be if you have the reception and ceremony in the same room. If you have an outdoor aspect of the day, what is the contingency plan if the weather takes a turn for the worse? Also, is the venue able to provide a team to help you with the planning and running of the day?

Talk About Finer Details

When you think you have found a place which is right for you, it is time to start talking about the finer details. For example, the lighting plays a big part in the day so you should check if plenty of natural light can enter the room or whether you will need artificial options. If you have your heart set on certain events, say a candlelit meal, make sure that the venue actually permits them to happen.

Fit it in with Your Budget

There is no point booking a venue if it is going to take up your entire budget. So, you need to make sure that you are comfortable with the amount you are paying. Perhaps the amount is negotiable and there are some extras that they can throw into the package. It is certainly worth asking the question.

Hopefully, these points have given you a few things to consider that will make choosing your dream wedding venue that little bit easier.
