Reception of the Stars Wedding Planner Tour- January 30th

We started our day meeting at the Livonia Marriott for a tour of the property and a delicious breakfast. This location is perfect as its adjacent to Laurel Park Mall to entertain your wedding guests. There is a beautiful gazebo outside for the warmer months so an entire wedding event can take place on-site without having to shuttle guests around.

Our next stop was to Fox Hills Golf and Country Club in Plymouth. We had a short tour as they were hosting their weekly Sunday Brunch. Each of us planners received one complimentary brunch so we can come back and experience it for ourselves! They also have a gazebo outside and banquet space inside.

Next up was a favorite venue of mine also in Plymouth which is the Inn at St. John’s. This place is gorgeous and offers couples everything from a on-site chapel, full-service hotel, restaurant, ball rooms and even an Atrium. They had a nice amici station of more eating waiting for us!

We then ventured over to Hotel Baronette in Novi. I have done weddings here but things have changed and been newly decorated since I was last there. They also treated us and gave us each a complimentary night stay. Can’t wait to use that for a special occasion or just because. That was so nice of them!

Hellenic Cultural Center in Westland was another stop along the way. We had a tour of the space and Mary Denning’s Bakery left us each a sampling of her cupcakes! This place is under new management and looks like its going to be a great space for brides that are a little more on a budget but still offers wonderful features including a water fountain and stairs for great picture backdrops.

Lastly, we headed over to Karl’s Cabin and we arrived to a family style reception and dessert bar. Elite Sweets and Sweets 21 had plenty of yummy treats for us to try. I have always loved Elite Sweets and they have done several of our bride’s cakes but Sweets 21 was fabulous too!

A great day was enjoyed by each of the 20+ planners. Bill Lonskey from Quintessential Events sure knows how to plan a great tour for all of the wedding planners. We are always so full and all vow not to eat for another 24 hours after the tour because there is always so much eating while we stop and explore each venue. If you are a wedding planner and reading this post you really need to sign up for the next tour which is happening on March 27th in the Ann Arbor area. See you there!
