Boulder Pointe Golf Club Oxford ~ Andrea + Leon 9/15/12
truly was a day to remember at the Boulder Pointe Golf Club on September 15,
2012. Everyone gathered at the gazebo to witness the joining of two families
and more importantly the joining of Andrea Zuzga and Leon Hendrix.
couple knew they were going to need some help. The couple hired You’re The Bride to handle coordination and they were well on their way to planning a
Willy Wonka Whimsical inspired wedding. Their color scheme was a royal purple and white
with a hint of orange. Tracie, Sam, and I arrived at Boulder Pointe to greet
the bridesmaids, mother and bride getting ready for the big day. With a wedding
this detailed there sure was a lot to do before the vows! Tracie was very
busy coordinating the set-up of the reception hall with Boulder Pointe,
Affordable Elegance, Parsonage Flowers, and Encore Events. While Sam and I were
pulling together the details of the ceremony area (gazebo) and tending to the
brides and bridesmaids needs, which included hemming, fixing, and cleaning! Not
to mention one of the flower girls getting sick and the other trying to get to
the petals in her dress. However there were no worries thanks to our team. We
also worked with the harpist and officiant to make sure the
ceremony would go as smooth as possible.
As soon as the bridal party finished their individual pictures with A Thousand Words Photography, we lined up the
party to walk down the aisle. It began with Leon escorting both mothers down
the aisle and to their seats, Leon must have been so excited because he
accidentally started to walk back down the aisle towards the bridal party
instead of staying up at the gazebo, but like a good sport he laughed it off
and made his way to the front ready to receive his bride. The bridal party
followed and then came Andrea. She wore a gorgeous sweetheart strapless A-line
that fit her like a glove. Andrea was escorted down the aisle by her
grandfather, Arthur Zuzga, who with a kiss gave her away to her beloved. There
were two special parts of the ceremony. First was when groomsmen Bilal Kurdie
sang the couple a touching song and the other was when the couple recited the
vows they had written for each other, of course there were tears of joy and
love in the eyes of many guests, including myself!
After the ceremony the guests
gathered on the Boulder Pointe Veranda for cocktail hour while the bridal party
took pictures on the golf course. Then the guests headed into the Boulder Pointe
Ballroom for the reception. The linens and chair covers were supplied by Affordable Elegance, lighting and photobooth by Encore Event Group, and the
decorations and candy room by Parsonage Events.
After the grand entrance of the
bridal party the best man and maid of honor gave their speeches and then it was
time for dinner. A fabulous buffet was provided by Boulder Pointe. It included
Prime Rib, Chicken Marsala, Tilapia, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes, Caesar Salad,
and much more! The bride and groom then cut their very special cake, and then
it was time for the big surprise, The Candy Room. This was the most exciting
and awaited part of the night, especially for the kids. Over 40 types of sweets were
included in the candy room decorated by, The Parsonage Events.
The bride and groom
absolutely loved the way it had turned out, they took pictures and sampled the
sweets as the bells rang for the grand opening. The guests selected their
sweets to the song “Pure Imagination” from the Willy Wonka movie and the reception went on. All ceremonial dances
were done including the couples’ first dance and then everyone
joined in on the fun. The evening ended with a hilarious guestbook created by
the guests using the photobooth pictures.
It was an honor to help Andrea and
Leon create their unique wedding and we thank them for using our services. We
absolutely love them and wish them all the happiness in the world, they are
truly a one of a kind couple.
