How to Plan a Frugal, Amazing, Wedding on a Budget!
Planning a wedding and keeping to a budget is incredibly stressful and confusing, especially during COVID-19! The uncertainty is ongoing, whether you are replanning a wedding you were forced to postpone, trying to work out how to go ahead even with the existing restrictions, or just having a look for the future. It is overwhelming, to say the least, especially with the economic uncertainty around. So, how can we plan an amazing wedding on a budget?
The average wedding can cost £32,000, but here are some tips on how the price can be broken down to cost maybe just a tenth of that!
Photography
It can be surprisingly easy to find affordable wedding photography for your big day! Whether you need a photographer for four hours, six, or even ten, there will be bundles for every type of wedding! You could get a certified photographer, videographer, digital photo files, a wedding film and unlimited coverage locations!
Ceremony Costs
It might be worth looking at your local register office so you can avoid paying to hire a room for your ceremony. Fees can vary by location, and sometimes register offices can charge a lot, but it is worth phoning local ones to see what they say. You will also need to cover your wedding certificate fees.
Wedding Venue
A restaurant, pub or bar is the best choice if you are having a smaller wedding. Also, by hosting your ceremony elsewhere, you are cutting costs, and by choosing a venue that includes catering in its packages, you will also save! A restaurant or pub wedding venue will consist of catering their packages and will offer a relaxed vibe to guarantee a fun celebration. Also, you can save costs by not giving the guests a three-course meal but giving the guests a slice of wedding cake for dessert.
The Wedding Dress
Even if you are on a tight budget, your wedding address doesn’t have to be cheap or scrimped. Your wedding dress is one of the most important days of your life, and you can still get quality! Plenty of bridal brands, such as Romantica, are devoted to creating affordable wedding dresses. Every bride deserves to have the dress of their dreams!
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen
A tight budget combined with COVID can mean a small wedding party. You can save money by not having bridesmaids or groomsmen, but if you can’t bear that, you can always ask your closest friends but explain that you cannot afford outfits. It will be up to them if they want to wear a new outfit or wear something that they already own in that instance. But no matter what, they will be there for your special day!
Wedding Cake
If you are a keen baker, why not make your own wedding cake? However, most people find that baking an elaborate cake in the run-up to their wedding will only add to the stress levels. You could get a basic, undercoated cake or a couple of supermarket cakes. You could also look into having an alternate wedding cake, such as a stack of brownies or a doughnut tower that will keep costs down!
