Roostertail Detroit ~ Meghann and Frank tie the knot!
Meghann hired me based on a referral from a previous bride just a short 5 weeks before the wedding to do her day-of coordination. Meghann and Frank live in New York but their family is here so they had their ceremony at the beautiful Grosse Pointe Academy Chapel. Meghann chose the Roostertail in Detroit for their 50’s Nightclub themed wedding. I was very excited to be part of that setting what a unique venue on the water. The day started off with some rain but Patrick and Lisa of Special Moments Photography were able to get some great shots in between the raindrops! Besides a little rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck! ha ha There was a beautiful rainbow during dinner..now you just can’t get much more perfect than that on your wedding day! I have to tell you I have done many weddings at the Chapel but this is the only one where there was standing room only! Meghann chose black, silver and celery as her color palette and it was beautiful. I think this is the first wedding I have done in a long time where the centerpieces were not flowers and it was a refreshing change as much as I love flowers. She used wire trees with several votives placed on a mirror and we sprinkled tiny svaroski crystals around the base. I do have to mention Deborah of Fireweed Designs out of Clinton Twp. whom did her personal and chapel flowers as they were gorgeous! Since Frank is Italian they treated their guests to a cassata cake from Manino’s Bakery. They served warm cookies and milk and pizza as a late night snack to their guests. The band Nightline kept the guests dancing all night long! What a great celebration they had!
