St. John’s Resort Wedding ~ Kara + Jesse 12/20/25

 St. John’s Resort Wedding

St. John’s Resort: December 20th in Michigan brought the most beautiful crisp winter backdrop for Kara and Jesse’s wedding day at Saint John’s Resort. The kind of day where the air feels fresh, the light is soft, and everything carries just a little extra magic.

From the very beginning, their wedding felt intentional.

A Calm and Meaningful Morning

The morning began in the Daisy Room as Kara and her bridesmaids gathered early, wrapped in robes, sipping coffee, and easing into the excitement of the day. There was music playing softly, dresses hanging in the window light, and that steady hum of laughter that fills a bridal suite on a wedding morning.

Hair and makeup moved seamlessly as each bridesmaid stepped into her look for the day. Kara’s anticipation grew quietly and steadily. It wasn’t chaotic. It wasn’t rushed. It felt peaceful.

Just down the hall in the Peony Room, Jesse and his groomsmen were getting ready, straightening jackets, adjusting cufflinks, and sharing stories. The energy was relaxed but full of excitement. The kind of morning where you know something big is about to happen.

Before the ceremony, Kara and Jesse chose to share a private, sacred moment together above the chapel. Instead of a traditional first look, they read their vows to one another behind a door and spent time in prayer. It was intimate and grounding. A quiet pause before stepping into a room filled with everyone they love.

A Timeless Full Mass Ceremony

Guests began arriving mid afternoon, filling the chapel with warmth and anticipation. Grandparents were seated first, honoring both families and generations of love that led to this day.

The ceremony began with a classic and elegant processional to “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.” One by one, the bridal party made their way down the aisle. Then came the sweetest moment as the children processed before the final entrance.

When Kara appeared with her father to “Canon in D,” the entire room shifted. It was emotional, timeless, and deeply meaningful. Jesse’s expression said everything.

Their full Mass ceremony was reverent and beautiful. Scripture readings echoed through the chapel. Prayers were offered. Vows were exchanged. Every element reflected their faith and the foundation they are building their marriage upon.

When they recessed down the aisle as husband and wife, joy filled the space.

A Celebration Full of Energy and Personality

Following family photos, the celebration transitioned into cocktail hour. Guests mingled throughout Saint John’s, enjoying signature drinks that reflected the couple’s personalities. Kara’s espresso martini was a hit, while Jesse’s old fashioned was a classic favorite. The Livy Lou mocktail added a playful touch to the bar.

As guests took their seats for dinner, the anticipation built once again.

The grand entrance was lively, full of personality, and set the perfect tone for the night. As soon as “Jessie’s Girl” started playing, the energy in the room completely shifted. It was fun, nostalgic, and had everyone smiling, singing along, and ready to celebrate! The bridal party was introduced with energy, and when Kara and Jesse entered, the room erupted in cheers. Champagne glasses were raised. Smiles were everywhere.

Heartfelt toasts followed. Words from family and friends brought laughter, a few tears, and stories that perfectly captured who Kara and Jesse are both individually and together.

Dinner was served as the room buzzed with conversation. With nearly 200 guests gathered, the atmosphere felt vibrant yet intimate. As the sun set just after 5:00 pm, Kara and Jesse stepped away briefly for sunset portraits, capturing that dreamy winter glow that only December can provide.

A Dance Floor That Never Slowed Down

Once the formalities concluded, the energy shifted into full celebration mode.

The father daughter and mother son dances were deeply touching moments that had guests wiping their eyes. The anniversary dance filled the floor with married couples at every stage of life, a powerful reminder of what the day truly represents.

Then the dance floor officially opened, and it never emptied.

From fraternity songs sung at the top of their lungs to sorority traditions that brought everyone together, the night felt personal and wildly fun. The bouquet toss added a playful spark, and the DJ kept the momentum going all evening.

As the night continued, guests enjoyed the dessert table, coffee bar, and eventually a late night snack of burgers and shakes that kept everyone energized through the final songs.

By the time the bar closed and the evening came to an end, no one was ready to leave.

From sacred vows in the chapel to a packed dance floor that lasted late into the night, every moment felt meaningful and authentic.
