If You Could Choose Anywhere In The World To Get Hitched, Where Would It Be?

Most people get married in a local church or registry office. And there’s nothing wrong with that: it’s still legally binding.

But imagine if money was no object and you could get married anywhere in the world. Where would you go?

Stuck for ideas? No worries: this post is here to help. We run through some of the most spectacular wedding destinations ever discovered. Check them out below:

Tenerife, Spain

If you’re looking for a tourist-friendly island on which to get hitched, then you can’t do much better than Tenerife. This spectacular chunk of rock is perched right in the middle of the Canary Islands, way out in the Atlantic ocean, off the coast of Africa. The small archipelago has a unique microclimate and is well set-up to accommodate large parties of overseas guests.

Crete, Greece

Unlike Tenerife, Crete is a Mediterranean Island. But just like the former, it’s home to spectacular scenery and plenty of tourist facilities.

What’s nice about Cretan weddings is that you have the whole of Greek culture in the background. Once the ceremony is over, you’re free to travel around the island and check out the delightful ancient sites and monuments.

Montezuma, Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a small central American country that borders Panama to the south. It’s an incredibly interesting place, not least that it remained open to most countries in the world throughout the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Why get married here? Well, it’s beautiful and secluded. What’s more, it has pristine beaches complete with palm trees and plenty of places to grab a drink. And young couples can rent out beautiful beach houses for bargain prices.

Koh Samui, Thailand

If you regularly go online and read wedding blogs, you’ll know that Koh Samui weddings are almost legendary. There’s a reason for this: the islands are rain-free practically year-round, unlike Phuket which can get extremely soggy during the wet season. What’s more, Koh Samui is relatively accessible to Bangkok, meaning that guests could potentially lodge there before traveling to you.

Tuscany, Italy

Italy is perhaps the most romantic country in Europe, with Tuscany perhaps being the most beautiful location in the entire country.

What makes it so special? Here you’ll find hill-top villas, roads lined with cypress trees, and glorious sunflower fields.

Tuscany is only a hop, skip, and a jump from many of the famous castles in the Chianti region. These offer beautiful wedding venues and private villas for couples to enjoy their honeymoon period and create a close bond with each other.

 Los Cabos, Mexico

Couples are also becoming increasingly interested in the Mexican coastal resort of Los Cabos. The main draw are the natural rock formations which stretch out magnificently into the open ocean behind.

Tofino, Vancouver, Canada

Lastly, if you’re looking to stay in the western world but want something extremely beautiful, you’ll want to check out Tofino on the edge of Vancouver island. It’s a little off the beaten path, but if you visit, you’ll enjoy scenes of unspoilt wilderness, and plenty of small, private locations to get married.
